The book analyzes the phenomenon of the radical democratic Latin American left in power by examining historical and theoretical dimensions.
Chapters analyze the twenty-first century left in power in Venezuela, Bolivia, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Cuba as well as social movements and the role of the communications media. The book is designed to shed light on the challenges faced by leftists in power, specifically the need to demonstrate through practice the viability of their policies.
